Marlene's Ministry Corner - The Nativity
The story of our Savior's birth is one of the most awesome one ever. It is one that is denied by some due to the virgin Mary's miraculous conception through the holy spirit of the Christ child. When he arrived into the world in the flesh undergoing great suffering and dying for our sins he provided us with salvation from sins. By truly accepting and believing that he willingly laid down his life for us, and that through him we are redeemed is the assurance that we are saved.
Remember that Jesus is the reason for the season!!!

Marlene's Ministry Corner - Oh Holy Child!
From the gospel of Matthew we have a message so empowering that most find it too difficult to believe. Nevertheless true believers rejoice in it and can give this as a gift to their children and grandchildren. What better gift then the story of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is a sense of great awe each time we hear it because of the mystery of the immaculate conception of the virgin Mary. Lets be inspired through this message in the gospel of Matthew.
Matthew 1: 18-25
This is how the birth of Jesus manifest: Mary his mother was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her privately.
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
All this too place to fulfill what the Lord had said through his prophet. The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel --which means, "God with us."
When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary home with him as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Signs of the end times from a Biblical perspective.....
Matthew 24: 36 - 42 (Our Lord said)
No one knows about that day or hour not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken the other left.
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
How have you prepared for the coming of our Lord? Are you living from day to day being vigilant and righteous. Do you have on the full-armor of God? Or do you just discount the fore warning of the end times going about your day secure that it is just a rumor or made up to entice people to come under the authority of God through the Son. This video is a very effective one and one that we all should adhere to. Matt. 24: 43 - 44/ But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
Peace & Love to all

Marlene's Ministry Corner - Is there real evidence about the Spirit?
Is there true evidence that an individual truly has the holy spirit?
Listen to what it says in the chapter of St. Luke:
And Jesus read from the scroll of the prophet Isaiah:
'The spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach the good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom
for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's
favor.
_________St. Luke 4: 18 - 19
Paul the apostle stated this about the Spirit in the 5th chapter of Galatians:
_____Galatian 5: 16 - 18
So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is
contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do
what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
_____Galatian 5: 22 - 26
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to
Christ Jesus crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us
keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited , provoking and envying each other.
Giving all praise, honor and glory to Christ Jesus!

Marlene' Ministry Corner - The Metaphysical Self
This is a very powerful documentary regarding metaphysics. It can literally change the entire way that you think about things. To be effective in the idea of metaphysics, " you must unlearn what you have learned." The indoctrination of religion or tradition keeps us in the state of being that we have chosen for ourselves.
After the video try this exercise:
Choose something you would like to manifest in your life. It does not have to be major, just pick something you would enjoy, that would not be a stretch to achieve. Focus on it, allow yourself to 'feel' good about having it, then let it go. In a few days it should be made manifest in your life. Begin your search for it now!

Having a Good Prayer Life!
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him. "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."
Jesus said to them, "When you pray, say:
" 'Father,"
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
Give us each day, our daily bread,
Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who
sins against us
And lead us not into temptation.
_____Lu. 11: 1-4
This is a prayer that most of us grew up with and have it deeply etched into our hearts. We have come to know that the books of the gospel; Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John each has its own version of this prayer. What this does is allow us to come to a more complete understanding of the "Lord's" prayer. Upon hearing this prayer in church and other places of worship we learned to formulate our own versions of praying by extending this and the prayers of our family members, preachers, deacons or from the Christians we came to revere. As prayer took on a more personal meaning for us in our spiritual growth we learned to include our thanksgivings for our daily needs, health and strength of selves', protection from the evil one and a request for our guardian angels protection for family members, etc. As we mature in our prayer life we come to know God on a very personal level understanding that he is the only one that we can go to through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to seek and get the answers to our problems. Do you know that you are totally involved in getting your needs met. When you pray, nothing waivered is the key, relinquish all to God. Knowing this we become more and more confident in a God that will not fail us. A God who is all encompassing and truly knows us better then anyone else.
All that I ask is that you follow your heart giving yourself completely to God through the Savior by your provision of your daily prayer and you will be blessed beyond measure, Amen!

Psychology - The Brain of Albert Einstein
This is an excellent video showing how the brain of Albert Einstein work. It is well worth your time, but I feel that I must warn you that some parts become a bit graphic. You will also find out some amazing information about the man Einstein which will explain some of his complexities.
Question:
Do you think that Einstein's brilliancy derived from his thinking possibly characterized by "autism" or from his ability to have a deeper "concentration" compared to most?
You be the judge!!!

A Thanksgiving Prayer for all!
This prayer says so much and will truly touch your heart this Thanksgiving! We indeed have so very much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We live in a world of such uncertainty never knowing from day-to-day what will transpire globally, nationally, or locally. We are constantly in the need of God's eternal love, care and understanding. Giving thanks can be the least repayment offered to God
at this time of the year. We owe him so much more. My hope is that you will begin daily to give God thanks, not just at special times. Make it a daily pattern of asking God to continually be in each of our lives allowing him to do his work through us. Do this by initially professing a true belief in God that he sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ into this sinful world to die for our salvation. Believe also in the resurrection of Christ and that through him we inherited the holy spirit. If you accept this you are saved and greatly blessed. Amen!

Psychology - Warning Signs of Suicide
1. A sudden decline in school attendance and achievement.
2. A break in a love relationship.
3. Withdrawal in social relationships.
4. An (earlier) attempted suicide.
5. Cluster suicides.
Do not fail to act when such warning signs are detected!
The act of suicide is a persons attempt to stop their unbearable pain or anguish by actually doing something about it. So undoubtedly the hope of saving a person's life is also to do something.
Some things you can do:
1. Reveal the suicidal person's plan to a social network (let others know about it)
2. Break the secret
3. Talk with the person
4. Tell others
5. Offer help
6. Start action around the person
7. Show response and concern
8. Try to offer "love"

Programmed Senescence & Cancer and Cellular Senescence Information
Psychology
Article of
interest: Programmed Senescence
Senescence
defined:
The state of
physical decline, in which the body gradually becomes less strong and efficient
with age.
Psychology
states that we are genetically programmed to reach degreed levels of biological
maturation at fixed times. We all
are genetically programmed to die after a fixed
number of years. Therefore, this will occur even if we never have a
particular illness or accident. It is inevitable that programmed senescence will
result in death at a “certain age.”
In the
second edition of The Developing Person through the Life Span (1988, 1983) the “certain age” (maximum lifespan) for
humans was 115 years.
A more
recent finding by Mark Stibich, PhD (2007) states that the current accepted
maximum life span is 122 years achieved by Jeane Clament of France.
Question:
Is “life span and life expectancy” the same?
Answer:
Life span is
different from life expectancy. Life span is the average number of Myears an individual is expected to live.
Can the gap between life span and
life expectancy be closed?
Yes, through
a healthier lifestyle of less exposure to toxins and the prevention of chronic
illness.

Depression and the Holidays
Depression and the holidays
As a board certified clinical psychotherapist I am most concerned about senior citizens and loneliness
during this time of the year. Being lonely can cause senior citizens to suffer from bouts of depression due to many reasons. One of the greatest stressors is when the elderly has recently loss a mate. This type loss compounded by the approaching holidays can increase the pain and stress made manifest by such. Another high stress comes from the loss of a child. The elderly who are suffering with some sort of illness can be even more lonely during the holiday season as well. Those who have recently retired might be missing the friends or coworkers whom they could talk with. At any rate we all could be helpful doing this time of the year by being mindful of the elderly. This could be a simple phone call letting them know that you are thinking of them or maybe asking them over for a holiday meal. I know that we are all busy with our own life's and the many challenges that life presents, but
just a minimal of attention to the elderly could be very rewarding to them.

The Work of the Holy Spirit (cont'd)
Hello,
This week is a continuation of more of the Holy Spirit so that you can began to truly absorb the
message that our Lord has for you. Of course I do not expect all to fully absorb this until you have come to the place of understanding it in your spiritual walk. This sometimes takes years for some and for others it is readily acquired. However, it is a message that we all can never get enough of in our lives.
ENJOY!!!!

Marlene's Ministry Corner - What is the Holy Spirit?
What is the holy spirit?
Bible text states that the holy spirit is spoken of as 'filling' people; they can be 'baptized' with it;
and they can be 'anointed' with it.
Luke 1:41; Matt. 3:11
Our savior Jesus also referred to the holy spirit as a "helper" and that this helper would "teach,"
"bear witness," "speak," and 'hear.'
John 14:16, 17, 26; 15:26; 16:13
Are you in your season with the holy spirit? If not you can be inspired through scriptural passages
that will lead you to the holy spirit as you continue your spiritual journey.

A Meditation Candle
"O Hearer of prayer, even to you people of all flesh will come." "God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him."
Ps. 65:2; Acts 10: 34,35
"This is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us."
John 5: 14
Now may the peace that passes all understanding continue to be with you...
Please be sure to use your own meditations while listening.

As a wedding officiant I want to elaborate on Marriage and performing weddings. Of course the earliest union begins with Adam and Eve. This is the union of a man and woman according to standards set in the Holy Biblical Scriptures. Genesis 2: 18; The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." The institution of marriage is a divine one. This is so because of the its provision of an intimate relationship between a husband and a wife and their commitment to one another. This relationship also allows for the provision and the procreation of more humans through the arrangement of a family. Marriage is the bringing together legally the union of a husband and a wife. What this does is provide a legal registration between the two and also safeguard any property rights of their family members in any event of death (or a divorcement) of one of the married pair. You might think, what were the "legal formalities" between Adam and Eve when they just lived together. This we can claim to be the Universal Sovereign, God, who determined this union. Gen. 2:22-24: Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman," for she was taken out of man.
Performing a wedding takes meticulous care and planning. There will need to be a pre-scheduling of a time, place, pre-counseling (with wedding officiant), cost, etc. There are many variations of the wedding ceremony. The couple will need to chose from a selection that the wedding officiant have or they may opt to write their own vows. Scheduling is so important for the wedding officiant. If an issue comes up and the couple will not be able to keep their date previously planned the wedding officiant need to be informed promptly. This could develop in a lose of time and money to the wedding officiant due to another couple needing to schedule their wedding at that time.
I am an available and reliable wedding officiate who cares about you marriage concerns.
